Chalet Tourmalet is in the valley of the Adour, mid way between Sainte-Marie-de-Campan and Gripp, on the D918, approximately 15 k below the river’s source.

The countryside is steep and heavily wooded on the lower slopes opening up to moorland as the terrain rises. It is crisscrossed by forestry and drovers trails, most of which are marked as walking or mountain bike trails with the standard French system.

There are walks of all lengths and degrees of difficulty, and we have maps and guide books to suit everyone. The famous Trans Pyrenean route, the GR10 passes us the other side of the Col du Tourmalet, through the village of Bareges.

Should you wish to do some of the longer ‘one way’ paths drop off / pick up and packed lunches can be arranged.
