Carolyn and Stefan’s aptly named Chalet Tourmalet is midway between its namesake and the Col d’Aspin, making it a perfect base for the Tour de France almost every year. The guys can put together a special race viewing package for anyone wanting to combine some riding with the magic that is the Tour de France in the Pyrenees. There is usually a chance to see two stages in the Pyrenees and when it passes the front of the chalet it makes this an ideal option for cyclists and non-cyclists alike. The 2017 104th Tour de France is in the area for stages on 12th and 13th July – Eymet to Pau and the longest stage of 214kms from Pau to Peyragudes. Included in the package is a substantial breakfast, packed lunches, afternoon tea, and three-course meal with wine/beer, so basically all you need to worry about is getting there (and what flag to wave!). They can also arrange supported rides, bike hire and airport/bike bus/train station transfers on request.
